Buyer Beware

So the same goes for us breeders as with the rest of the universe, some are just plain bad.  I have a bad habit of being too helpful, and assuming good motive and ethics in others.  Problem is it's such a rarity in real life and what's much more common is for people to look out for #1 - whcih unfortunately isn't you or me - and it's not the dogs they're breeding.

When looking for a breeder PLEASE ask around, call references, check with their vet to see what testing they do.  Talk for 2 hours and see if they start to sigh on the phone because their bored of questions.  Ask about their dogs and if you can get them to stop gushing in 10 minutes of less hang up.  It's a very sad thing, but there are alot of bad apples in the barrel.  Always remeber that all puppies are cute, but you want to love the one you pick for a long long time - so as always caveat emptor!  Believe it or not I get bitten, too - so don't feel you are showing weakness by being super cautious.  And I will try to do what I recommend : assume the worst and make them prove you otherwise.
