Sierra x Viking @ 1 Week

The puppies are one week old today! Seems I'm spoiled to death again with this litter, as Sierra is a great Mommy - just like her mother, Shelby... though she has a crazy habit of barking at the pups if one bothers her incision site - silly as they can't hear her and all it does is send me sprinting into the room to tell her 'no'. Maybe it makes her feel better to vent.... she did spend a great deal of time with me when she was a pup! ;) Then again she could just be playing me and this is all another mischievious plot....... hmmmnnn...

The puppies are growing like mad and plumping up nicely. They love their milk, and Sierra adores feeding them, so they are all nearly double their birthweight already!

I can't say enough of how proud I am of this litter! This whole season with Viking at the helm has been fantastic; He's very consistent in siring beautiful puppies when the momma is a pretty girl! This litter in particular is wonderful because of it's diversity as well as it's beauty. The two boys are very different from one another. Everest is just as his name would lead you to think: a stocky, manly little thing with a thick neck and chest already! This boy has a huge head and looks the most like daddy in form. McKinley is all about flash and beautiful colour. He'll still be a manly pup, but is not as burly as his brother, instead his amazing bright red is what draws you to him; well, that and a beautiful face!!

The girls are also very different from one another. The tiny beauty of the litter, Phoenix, with her perfect head and lovely short form is to die for! Mauna Kea iss the spitting image of her half brother Cruiser and looks exactly like daddy in red; 'nough said as Viking is darn near perfect!! Mariana is bigger than our other blue girl Phoenix, but beautifully balanced in her frame. This little girl has the magnetism of her father; the certain 'je ne sais quoi' that makes you love them immediately. She will have me wrapped around her finger (and everyone else)very shortly, I'm sure!
